Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports

The Warrior Way

What is PBIS?
Positive Behavior Intervention System, or PBIS, is a school wide approach to emphasizing and modeling positive behavior choices.
We believe that schools are successful when they help children grow academically, socially, and emotionally. For this to happen, it is important that we have a safe environment that is supportive and conducive to growth.
By setting clear social and behavioral expectations and directly teaching students about those expectations, it is our goal to create this atmosphere for learning.

1. Warrior Behavior Code Matrix
The Matrix outlines the Behavioral Expectations in all common areas throughout the school campus.
2. Tools
Lesson Plans will be used to teach students the Behavioral Expectations. Expectations are reviewed and taught throughout the year.
3. PBIS Warrior Points
Points are used to acknowledge and reinforce positive behavior choices with high frequency. Students miss opportunities to earn points when they are absent, tardy, or leave early.
4. Celebrations and Surprises
Intermittent and long-term rewards are used to reinforce positive behaviors.
5. Responsibility
Students are expected to exhibit responsible behavior. Irresponsible behaviors are divided into violations that can be dealt with within the classroom or will be referred to the Principal.
6. Procedures for Rule Violations
While positive behavior choices are reinforced, negative or irresponsible behavior choices must still be associated with consequences.

Students that follow the PBIS behavior expectations have the opportunity to earn PBIS points. When students are absent, tardy, or leave early they miss opportunities to earn points. Students are able to redeem those points at the PBIS school store. There are Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 prizes in our PBIS store. You may see a more specific breakdown of our reward system by visiting our Facebook page.
